Rocky Mountains

Wow guys! It's been a long time since I've written. I have been having lots of fun in Colorado but it is about time that I get sent back to you. Over the weekend, I got to go hiking. It is still fall here so the weather is nice (no snow yet) so on the weekends, lots of people like to hike around in the Rocky Mountains. You can do small hikes or you can hike some of the biggest mountains on North America. They go up over 14,000 feet. You do not need a oxygen tank with you but it sure does feel like you do since the higher up you go, the less oxygen there is to breath. Anyway, I got to go hiking in a part of the Rocky Mountains called the Flatirons. It was so much fun. I didn't see any animals since there were so many people out and about, but I did see some nice views. Enjoy the pictures!

Kindergarten and Pilates

Today I got to go to a real school in Colorado. I met the kindergarteners and they were so nice. They told me that their school mascot is the Timberwolf and it howls. A cool thing is that they wear uniforms here just like you do. I had to wear khaki pants and a red shirt tucked in with a belt! They also wanted me to let people in Louisiana know that most kids in Colorado cheer for the Denver Broncos (a football team) but they cheer for the New Orleans Saints because their teacher Ms. Baker likes them! They also told me that it snows in Colorado! Can you believe it! They said that I can go sledding with them if I am here when it snows!
After school, I got to do some exercise. It was called Pilates. I was on a machine called a reformer and it was really fun. My muscles are so sore now so I am going to bed!

Bedtime!

Fall

Yay! It is fall here in Colorado. That means that you never know what the temperature is going to be. This morning I was all bundled up because it was 25 degrees outside (that is below freezing) and by this afternoon it was 75 degrees. Crazy huh?! What I am loving most about fall in Colorado though is the trees. The leaves have turned remarkable colors: red, yellow, orange, and I even saw some dark purple! Eventually they will fall off the trees in preparation for winter and snowfall, but for now it is stunning!

I arrived in Colorado

I arrived in Boulder, Colorado today and got to go shopping for some clothes. On Saturdays in Boulder, everyone wears black and yellow in support of their favorite college football team, the CU Buffalos (Buffs for short). I did not get to go to the game since it was being played out of town, so instead I got to see some sights. Today I saw prairie dogs for the first time! They are actually considered rodents(like mice) but they are so cute. They live in tunnels underground that are called burrows. I tried to peek in the burrow and I almost fell in. I tried to get close to a prairie dog to touch it, but anytime I got near they would make sqeaking noises and all of the prairie dogs would run into their burrows. It was still fun though!
